LISA RUNNELS SHELTON EMERGING ARTIST AWARD
After receiving a devastating diagnosis that she had Stage 4 breast cancer, Lisa Runnels-Shelton immediately began researching how she could best live her life. Her two priorities were prolonging her life, and achieving a quality existence with the short time she had left. Lisa began attending cancer support groups, where she met some amazing individuals.
These support groups provided Lisa with the comfort that she was not alone, and also gave her the opportunity to help others. It was through attending these support groups that Lisa decided she wanted to make a documentary about her experience living with a terminal illness, which would become the film STAGE 4: BRAVING UNCERTAINTY. Her work as a filmmaker and cancer awareness advocate inspired her family and friends to create this award.
The Lisa Runnels Shelton Emerging Artist Award is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. All donations are tax deductible.
